FMC Modules for 3950 Series Features & Benefits

FMC modules increase the flexibility of FortiGate-3950 Series platforms, adding two (2) 10-Gigabit Ethernet, or twenty (20) Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) ports per module. They also improve security performance by providing dramatic increases in system firewall and IPsec VPN throughput. Specialized FortiASIC™ processors, embedded in all FMC modules, offload demanding network and security processing functions from the CPU, thereby freeing system resources and improving system performance. The security-hardened FortiOS™ operating system works in concert with FortiASIC™ processors to deliver the most comprehensive suite of IPv6-ready security and networking services available within a single device.
